The Sprada Platform is now Market Data Compass

The Sprada Platform has a new name and its own home. Market Data Compass gives buy-side and broking firms one view of their market data licences, contracts and exposure.
The product I launched in May has a new name and its own home. Same platform, same team, sharper focus on the problem that actually keeps market data managers up at night.
In May I wrote that the Sprada Platform was live. Since then it has picked up a new name, a dedicated site, and a clearer sense of what it is for. The product is now Market Data Compass, and it lives at marketdatacompass.com.
Why the rename
The old name said who built it, not what it did. That was fine while the only people using it already knew me. It is less fine when a market data manager in Sydney or Hong Kong hears about it from someone else and has to work out what a "Sprada Platform" might be.
Market Data Compass does the explaining itself. It also draws a line I wanted drawn: Sprada is the consultancy, Compass is the product. The two work together, and plenty of clients will use both, but they are different things and deserve to be presented as such. This site is now about the consultancy. Compass has its own.
What has not changed
Underneath, it is the same product. Inventory, contracts, invoices, compliance, renewals and spend against budget, in one structure, with the licensing detail modelled the way vendor contracts are actually written. The AI is still woven into the workflow rather than bolted on; it now answers to Compass Assistant. The two ways to engage are unchanged too: run it yourself as Compass Self-Managed, or have us run your market data function for you under Fractional Market Data Management, with Compass included.
If you are an existing client, there is nothing you need to do. Your login works, your data is where you left it, and your agreements carry on as they are.
What has sharpened
When I launched, I led with cost: knowing what you really pay for market data. Six months of conversations have moved my view on what matters most. For buy-side firms cost is the secondary priority, the first is exposure.
Your contracts point to usage policies that vendors and exchanges control, and those policies can change without a signature. Display versus non-display, derived data, redistribution to your own clients: the terms that decide whether you are licensed can move without anyone in the building being told, and most firms find out at audit, not before it. Compass exists to surface that for your review before someone else surfaces it for you. The cost visibility is still there. It just is not the headline any more.

If you would rather see it across a live estate, book a walkthrough; thirty minutes is usually enough to know whether it fits your firm.
